Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and Chickadees oh my!

Enjoy a guided walk on the bluebird trail with our naturalist observing and learning about our local birds, especially our beloved own eastern bluebird. Learn some simple techniques to attract local birds to your yard this season. Then grab our tools and assemble your very own bluebird house to take home or donate. You can also enjoy visiting and feeding our farm animals.

During the month of April we will be offering free farm visits and nature activities for families who would benefit from a small group and individual setting. Please call to schedule a free private visit.

Bunnies & Chicks Spring Nature Hunt!

April 10th & 11th


Enjoy springtime on the farm and meet our new baby chicks, bunnies and other farm animals. Listen to a few animal stories and make a small craft to take home. Then, grab your Easter baskets and take a hike on the bluebird trail to collect eggs and items from nature.

Please bring your own basket. Boots recommended.

Learn how to identify different native trees in our area and taste some of the many products trees provide us with. Learn how to plant a tree and take a sapling home to plant yourself or grow for awhile in a container.

Mother’s Day Fairy Gardens and Flower Pots

Bring mom to the farm for a fairy garden flower adventure! After walking the Bluebird
Trail enjoying nature and springtime, you and mom can create your own fairy garden to take home. The garden will be complete with small fairy creatures, foliage and flowers. This will be a truly lovely garden dish to treasure. You can also choose to paint or decorate a flower pot and fill it with fresh flowers that will bloom all summer. Then you and mom will enjoy refreshments and a visit with our farm animals.

Pizza Gardens, Salsa Sacks, Flowers and Herbs Container Gardening

Come to the farm and plant your very own pizza garden, salsa sack, flowers or herbs in a container to take home. Your project includes potting soil that you will create yourself with our organic materials, tomato plants, peppers, herbs and everything you need to make homemade pizza or salsa later in the season. With proper sunshine and water your container garden will grow on your back patio or porch all summer. We’ll learn what soils to use in containers and how to keep your plants healthy all summer long.

Also enjoy time in the garden identifying plants and wandering through our straw bale maze.
