It’s been a very eventful week on the farm. “Daisy” our sow arrived and is proving to be quite social and friendly. She is due to deliver ( we hope) 14 piglets or more over Memorial Weekend. Please stop by and meet them!
This week also we will receive another 100 Cornish chicks that will stay warm in the brooder.

Our bottle fed Nigerian goats will arrive Saturday just in time for “Old McDonald’s Farm” event on Saturday May 3. We still have room for participants. On Saturday you can enjoy bottle feeding the goats/ meeting Daisy/ feeding the baby chicks and hiking on the Bluebird Trail. We also have some nice crafts planned.

The garden beds are almost ready to plant. This past weekend our CSA members tilled the compost and peat moss into the beds. The rich dark soil is ready to plant……in May.! To date however we do have strawberries garlic and peas growing with spinach ready to go.

The tree swallows are dominating the Bluebird Trail this year. But we are hopeful that two bluebird nests ( not quite done) will yield a brood.

We enjoyed a wonderful troop of 13 Brownies last night for a hike and evening on the farm.!
