Springtime Family & Community Events at Bluebird Trail Farm
BLUEBIRD DAY!
March 15th: 10:00am -12:00pm
$20 per family
Enjoy an interpretive walk on the Bluebird Trail with one of our experienced guides and learn about our beloved Eastern Bluebird. Along the way, listen and identify other returning birds as you walk through the fields and around the ponds. Build your own bluebird house to take home and mount! Visit the peacocks and other farm animals and enjoy a relaxing morning on the farm.
(includes one bluebird box)

Enjoy a visit to the farm and meet some new baby animals. Enjoy a walk on the Bluebird Trail to look for some early signs of spring and listen to the returning songbirds. Help plant a few spring bulbs to encourage the pollinators and take a few home with you! Enjoy stories and children’s activities throughout the morning.




HELLO SPRING!

$10 per family

Enjoy a visit to the farm and meet some new baby animals. Enjoy a walk on the Bluebird Trail to look for some early signs of spring and listen to the returning songbirds. Help plant a few spring bulbs to encourage the pollinators and take a few home with you! Enjoy stories and children’s activities throughout the morning.
NATURE WALKS
April 5th
Drop in between 10:00am and 12:00pm
$10 per family
Enjoy a walk around the farm and on the trails to observe the returning songbirds and wildlife. Feed the ducks on the pond and meet the new ducklings and chicks. Children can participate in the garden planting seed cups and making wildflower seed balls to take home and plant.

Learn how to inoculate a mushroom log and plant a mushroom bed. Mushrooms grow well in the woods but they also grow well in a backyard! Take home an inoculated mushroom log you plant yourself with your choice of Shiitake or Chestnut sawdust spawn. Explore our expanding Forest Garden and learn a few techniques about gardening in the woods and what plants may grow well in your shady backyard. Children will enjoy finding the different fairy houses in the forest.

Visit the farm and make your own beautiful strawberry or kitchen herb bowl to take home. Each family can plant a large strawberry pot with flowering strawberry plants that will bloom and produce delicious strawberries in June. Or create a wonderful herb bowl with. a variety of young, healthy herb plants.

Bring mom to the farm for a fun spring visit and decorate and fill a beautiful clay pot or vase with Marigolds and other flowers to take home. Each family can decorate one large pot and choose from a variety of young annual flowers to fill it with. All materials included: pot, soil, decorations & flowers. Take mom on the bluebird trail for a relaxing nature walk!

Enjoy a morning on the farm and a visit to our apiary. Our beekeepers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the basics of beekeeping and how to create a pollinator-friendly yard. Children will be introduced in a fun and engaging way to the life cycle of honey bees and pollination. Each guest will receive a small bottle of our spring wild flower honey.
Also on that day guests can visit the flower garden and learn what plants are the most pollinator friendly and how to attract pollinators to your yard. Take home a couple of friendly pollinator flowers to grow in your own yard.

10:00am until 12:00pm
$20 per family

Enjoy a morning on the farm and a visit to our apiary. Our beekeepers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the basics of beekeeping and how to create a pollinator-friendly yard. Children will be introduced in a fun and engaging way to the life cycle of honey bees and pollination. Each guest will receive a small bottle of our spring wild flower honey.
Also on that day guests can visit the flower garden and learn what plants are the most pollinator friendly and how to attract pollinators to your yard. Take home a couple of friendly pollinator flowers to grow in your own yard.
