SCIENCE AND NATURE ADVENTURES

Tuesdays and Fridays 9:15am -11:30 am

Join us this fall for PreK-6 science and nature based activities designed to support parents teaching at home and compliment the elementary school science curriculum.

Enjoy a morning of creative and enriching activities with our amazing naturalists! Choose two topics from the list below. Each family or small home schooling group will be hosted by one teacher and all Covid safety precautions and guidelines will be in place.

CHOICES

ROOTS STEMS AND LEAVES

Explore plant science and discover how plants grow and what they need to survive.

SYRUP, NESTS, SHADE AND SOIL

Examine how trees are important to our environment and the many delicious products they give us.

ON THE MOVE…MIGRATION

Where do all those geese go? Learn about the migration of animals. Discover how and why animals migrate and how they get to where they’re going.

POWERFUL POLLINATORS

What is pollination and how does it occur? Meet a beekeeper and learn about the structure of the honey bee colony. Meet the other local pollinators and learn about the important role they play in nature.

THE FOREST IS MY HOME

Who lives in the forest? Discover the forest as a habitat and how important it is to the environment. Examine other habitats on the farm and in the field and identify who lives there.

FEATHERS AND FIBERS

Meet all the different farm animals and learn about the many different products they provide for us. Collect and weigh your own chicken eggs, and spin a little alpaca fiber. Learn what humane treatment means and the five freedoms of animal welfare.

REGISTER

T o register for a morning adventure, please fill out the form below. Tell us how many are in your group and their ages. Then, choose two topics and use the PayPal button to secure your spot. When you come to the farm, please park in the back behind the big red barn. Children must wear shoes. Please bring a water bottle and hat.

The Cost is $25 for groups of 4 people or less. Each additional person is $6.00. Maximum Group size is 8 people. Thank you.
